We can help you build a professional learning community: examples of our professional development
• The entire staffs of several schools in the Northeast region of Expeditionary Learning are engaged in monthly Professional Learning Communities focused on a specific element of the school's work plan such as "literacy" or "student voice". In groups of 5-8, facilitated either by the ELOB school designer or members of the school staff trained as Learning Community facilitators, teachers use highly focused protocols to engage in text-based dialog, examine student work, and give and receive feedback on teacher practice. The small groups provide the context for the entire staff to develop coherent practices of a Professional Learning Community, making for significantly more efficient and productive use of available professional development time.
